Judge Valleriani is currently a Monroe County Court Judge and Acting State Supreme Court Justice, and is seeking election to the position of State Supreme Court Justice in the Seventh Judicial District. The District is compromised of the counties of Monroe, Ontario, Livingston, Wayne, Steuben, Cayuga, Seneca, and Yates. You are eligible to vote for Judge Valleriani if you live in any of those counties.
Judge Valleriani is a lifelong resident of the Town of Gates where he currently lives with his wife Rasheda and daughter Santina. He attended St. Theodore’s Elementary School and Gates Chili High School before attending SUNY Brockport and the University of Buffalo Law School, graduating from both institutions with honors.
Before his election to the bench, Judge Valleriani worked as an assistant public defender, and subsequently as a solo practitioner, owning and operating his own law firm, specializing in criminal defense. Judge Valleriani has also served as Gates Town Court Justice, where he was elected in 2011 and re-elected in 2015. He was hired as a court attorney in Superior Court in 2013, while simultaneously working as a Town Justice.
Judge Valleriani was elected to County Court in 2016, and appointed as an Acting State Supreme Court Justice in 2018. He is also an adjunct professor in the Criminal Justice Department at Keuka College.
Before becoming a lawyer and judge, he was a teacher in the Rochester City School District where he received the USA Today Experience Today Top Teacher of the Year Award, 2004. He is also a founding Board member (no longer active) of the University Preparatory Charter School for Young Men.
